
The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) inaugurated the 5-Days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Securities Analysis and Valuation: Fundamental, Technical Approaches and Research Report Writing” on 29 June 2026 at the NISM Campus, Patalganga. The programme has been designed to enhance the knowledge and analytical capabilities of faculty members in the areas of equity research, valuation, financial modelling, technical analysis, and securities market analysis.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rachana Baid, Dean (Academics), NISM, who highlighted the importance of capacity building and continuous learning for faculty members in the rapidly evolving financial markets ecosystem. The keynote address was delivered by Shri Sashi Krishnan, Director, NISM.
The FDP curriculum offers participants a comprehensive understanding of the equity research and valuation process. The programme covers topics such as Economic Analysis, Industry Analysis, Company Analysis, Equity Valuation, Financial Modelling, Technical Analysis, and Research Report Writing. Participants will gain insights into economic indicators, GDP analysis, fiscal and monetary policies, industry dynamics, company financial analysis, discounted cash flow valuation, relative valuation techniques, forecasting, investment thesis development and equity research report preparation.
To provide practical exposure, participants will also undertake sessions in the Simulation Lab enabling them to experience real-time market scenarios. In addition, an educational visit to a Market Infrastructure Institution (MII) has been planned to provide participants with first-hand exposure to the functioning of key institutions within the Indian securities market ecosystem.
The programme brings together distinguished faculty members and industry experts, including Dr. Amol Agrawal, Mr. Madhav Mehta, Mr. Rammohan Bhave, Mr. J. P. Sinha, Dr. Meraj Inamdar and Ms. Jigisha Thakkar, who will share their expertise and practical insights throughout the programme.
The FDP aims to strengthen participant’s understanding of fundamental and technical approaches to securities analysis while equipping them with practical skills in valuation, financial modelling, and research report writing. Through a blend of classroom learning, simulation-based training and MII exposure, the programme seeks to empower faculty members to effectively integrate contemporary market concepts into their teaching and research activities.
